I'm a lifestyle portrait photographer based in Athens, Georgia, with a philosophy that every moment in life is worth celebrating. You should be able to look back and remember each one.
When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me working as a full-time oncology nurse and studying to become a nurse practitioner. At home, life is shared with my husband and our two dogs, who definitely keep things entertaining. I also love spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes, and I'm currently on a mission to become a runner.
This is my second year running Carly Ann Photography, and I truly couldn't be more grateful for every family, couple, senior, and individual who has trusted me to tell their story. My favorite part about being a photographer is meeting so many new people and getting to spend even just half an hour learning about their stories and celebrating their moments. My goal is to create a relaxed, comfortable, and authentic experience where you can be yourself while we bring your vision to life. I can't wait to meet you, hear your ideas, and create the gallery of your dreams together!
My approach
I believe your session should feel more like spending time with a friend rather than standing in front of a camera. My goal is to create a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere where you can laugh, flow naturally, enjoy the moment, and hopefully forget the camera is there.
During your session, we'll capture a mix of timeless posed portraits and candid, prompt-based movements that feel authentic to you. I'll probably have your favorite Spotify playlist playing in the background, and we'll take our time creating images that reflect your personality and your story.
Before your session, we'll connect over text or a quick phone call so I can get to know you, understand your vision, and answer any questions you have. Whether you have a detailed Pinterest board, or just know you want photos that "feel like you," I'm ready to make that come to life.
When it comes to editing, my style is warm, natural, and true-to-color. I want your images to feel timeless, warm, and full of emotion. I also love incorporating creative crops and thoughtful composition to add a little more intention and variety to your gallery.
