Some sessions feel personal in a way that goes beyond just being behind the camera. This was one of them. Laci spent her time at the University of Georgia earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Development, and she's headed into nursing school next. As a nurse myself outside of my photography work, getting to celebrate someone at the very start of that journey means a lot to me. There's something full-circle about photographing a new nurse's story just beginning, when I know firsthand what that path looks like.

A Tour Through UGA, Told in Photos

We covered a lot of ground for this session, and each location added its own piece to her story:

North Campus gave us that classic, timeless UGA charm. The Arch, the Chapel, Chapel Bell, and Herty Fountain comprise the scenery every Bulldog graduate wants in their gallery. (They're also all included in my basic UGA graduate sessions)

Founders Garden brought in a softer, more intimate backdrop, tucked away from the busier parts of campus. Here, I love creating those quieter, more personal portraits.

Dawson Hall on South Campus was especially meaningful to shoot at, since it's also where I did my own undergrad. Walking her around that building and those surrounding paths felt like handing off a little bit of my own UGA story to hers.

Sanford Stadium rounded things out with that unmistakable UGA landmark energy. No senior session feels complete without it (and a champagne pop is always worth it).

Celebrating the Beginning of Something Big

Senior sessions are always meaningful, but there's something extra special about photographing someone on the edge of starting a career in healthcare. Nursing school is no small undertaking, and stepping into it takes real dedication. Getting to document this chapter (the one right before the scrubs, the clinicals, and the long shifts) is exactly the kind of milestone I love being trusted with.

To sweet Laci: congratulations on finishing your degree, and best of luck as you start the next part of your journey. I hope these photos remind you of exactly how far you've already come.
